Kuow

For sixty-five years, KUOW 94.9 has been a pillar in the Puget Sound media landscape. Yet for much of that time, the station let other people define it. Under new leadership, KUOW decided it was time to put a stake in the ground—to articulate exactly the kind of media company it wanted and needed to be. Truth, clarity, and understanding are part of their promise. KUOW realizes their work isn’t done simply if are people are listening. The key is whether or not they are moving hearts and challenging your thinking, promoting understanding and broadening your field of vision. And they decided they wanted to go for it with a new mindset, a new look, and a new attitude.

A  new identity

 

Following a rigorous engagement with KUOW's leadership, where we established a new verbal identity for KUOW,  we sought to establish a new brand mark and visual identity system that would allow KUOW reinforce its position as a sound and trusted media company. The new mark reflects the many facets of the community and KUOW listeners.

BRAND Rollout

 

Working with KUOW and renowned photographer John Keatley – we captured powerful images focusing on listeners and their personal stories. These stunning photos became the center piece of KUOW's roll out efforts and informed the creative.

MARKETING AND DIGITIAL COMMUNICATIONS

We provided KUOW with initial creative for print ads, email newsletter communications and provided recommendations implementing the new brand in digital and social spaces.

ASK A IDENTITY AND CAMPAIGN 

Finally, we designed and produced a website for KUOW's Ask A Series where we extended the brand into a campaign and produced video to support the effort.
